“this just sounds like some statement he made to keep the conversation going, maybe to see what Xi Jinping’s reaction was. But I don’t think that he’s seriously considering selling weaponry to the Chinese. The Reagan administration did it. The Carter administration did it. Nobody in between has done it very much, although all of them have let dual-use technology go to the Chinese, but an actual arms sale, that’s just too hard to imagine.”
